Providing access to coordinated healthcare services for low-income Lucas County residents.
Health Insurance Marketplace
CareNet is assisting residents of 21 northwest Ohio counties with special enrollment periods in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace as a member of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks’ navigator consortium. This includes continuous special enrollment for people living at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or $41,625 a year for a family of four in 2022.
CareNet’s licensed and certified navigators can provide northwest Ohio residents with free Marketplace assistance, including those who speak Spanish or Arabic. Please click here to schedule an appointment or call 1-833-628-4467.
Special enrollment periods can be triggered by aging off a parent’s plan, moving to another state, getting married or divorced, and losing employer-sponsored coverage. Residents have 60 days to select a Marketplace plan after losing other coverage, including Medicaid.
When meeting with a CareNet navigator, residents should bring photo identification and income verification, preferably last year’s tax return. They also should bring insurance coverage information for everyone in their household.
