Open enrollment for healthcare coverage through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace is from November 1, 2021 through January 15, 2022. Toledo/Lucas County CareNet is assisting residents of 21 northwest Ohio counties with enrolling in either the federal Health Insurance Marketplace or Medicaid as a member of the Ohio Association of Food Banks navigator consortium.
CareNet’s certified navigators can provide residents with no cost assistance enrolling in healthcare coverage for 2022. Please click here to schedule an appointment.
When meeting with a CareNet navigator, residents should bring photo identification and income verification, preferably last year’s tax return. They also should bring insurance coverage information for everyone in their household.
Anyone who currently has coverage through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace should log onto their account to ensure that their income information is current and review their coverage. Some plans may have changed or may no longer be offered for 2022.
Outside of open enrollment, residents need a qualifying event – such as moving to another state, getting married or divorced, and losing employer-sponsored coverage – to get coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. CareNet navigators also can assist residents with a qualifying event.
