Help With Medicaid

There are changes coming to Ohio Medicaid, and CareNet is providing free help with the transition. Medicaid recipients have to recertify coverage for the first time since the pandemic began in 2020, and they also can choose among managed care plans.

CareNet has licensed and certified navigators who can provide free assistance with these changes to residents throughout northwest Ohio, including those who speak Spanish or Arabic. Click this link to schedule an appointment to get help with recertifying coverage or choosing a managed care plan, or call 1-833-628-4467.

Medicaid recipients can use one of these options to recertify coverage with the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services by updating their contact information to ensure they receive notices and don’t lose coverage:

  • Call 844-640-6446. After selecting the preferred language option option, select option 2 and follow the prompts.
  • Use their Self-Service Portal (SSP) account to report changes online. After logging in, click the “Access My Benefits” tile, then click “Report a Change to my Case” from the drop down menu and follow the prompts.
  • Contact your County Department of Job & Family Services (CDJFS). Ohio Medicaid members can find their county office in this directory. Lucas County residents can complete and return this form.

To choose a new Medicaid managed care plan, recipients also can call the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline at 1-800-324-8680.
